With enough updraft winds and enough imagination, we'll take flight

Azhar Abidi, a Pakistani-Australian author, has written a fictional account of two real Brazilian brothers. Alexandre and Bartolomeu Lourenco invented an airship, the Passarola, or "great bird."

The men took their maiden voyage in 1731 and the book follows their adventures with their airship to other exciting places - across the European continent, the extreme northern regions to measure the distance between the poles, and Bartolomeu adventures in India.

Remember, the brothers were real; the story is best classified an historical fable.

Passarola Rising is available today for only $4.08.
