Forgotten heroes and leaders

The world was in turmoil, the future uncertain for millions of Europeans and Americans as the Nazi forces and others threatened freedom and life by their aggression. Extraordinary times called for extraordinary leadership.

Colonel William Darby rose up to organize a select force of infantry that would specialize in razing and infiltration. The World War II Rangers first saw action in North Africa, then Sicily and Italy. Col. Darby believed in taking action and by-passed traditional military disciplines. Killed near the end of the war in Italy, Darby's early efforts and the effectiveness of the Rangers led to the creation of the Special Forces.

Written by H. Paul Jeffers, Onward We Charge tells the story of Darby and the Rangers. Today the book is available for the Kindle for only $4.06.
