Just a word about pricing

We are cheapskates. That doesn't mean we like cheap things. It means we like to buy good, quality things when the price is cheap. If it isn't 80% off, then we don't need it.

We double check every book we post here on kindlecheapreads. At the time of the post, the price is right. But if you know anything about Kindle pricing, you know that prices change on the nano-second and you may have missed a great deal. It's like hesitating at the auction.

Just yesterday afternoon I found a great mystery book that I wanted to post. It was the first time I had seen the book at a reduced rate, so I felt confident holding it for a few days as I had already had the weekend's posts scheduled. Last night when I sat down to prepare Monday's posts, the book was $9.99. I didn't even get to buy it when it was cheap!

Some books will decrease in price after our post. If we have time, we may repost the book at the reduced price. Other times, the book may soon go back to its regular price and we will all miss out. We recommend you check the blog often, buy what appeals to you, and not live with regrets - whether the price increases or decreases. Living with regrets takes time away from reading.

Cheap books are great books!

Looks like we have been Penguined

You may have noticed that when you try to purchase some of our cheap reads from earlier weeks that the prices have increased significantly. Many of these increases are the result of Amazon reaching an agreement with Penguin for the agency model.

At first glance, to us it appears that Penguin has priced their e-books quite high, even for books published two, three, and four years ago. If they maintain these higher prices, they won't be selling e-books to these two cheap chicks.

We love our e-readers, but when we can get one of their books at the used book store, the thrift store, or the library book sale for $1 or less, we will choose that option.

As we all know with Kindle book pricing, it's a moving target. Maybe Penguin will realize there is a market for cheap books and price accordingly.

Big Announcement! We are so proud!

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

If all goes well, we will be introducing our website on or around Tuesday, June 1! We are so excited! We are also trying to get our site support team as excited as we are so they could get the work done to get the site up and going. But if it is June 2 or 3, we will practice patience - a virtue, or so we were told by our mother.

The name of the website - that's kind of secret right now. We'll let you know soon and have a link right here for you!

Also in June, we will be start a regular feature called Savings by the Bundle, which will be a posting each Saturday.

Our website will continue to feature posts of cheap reads for the Kindle - nothing over $5/book. We ferret out the cheap reads, so you can click and read. Let us do the heavy lifting for you!
